Pep Guardiola to Juventus:

- How likely is it?
- When would it happen?
- Could it work?

Thread below, any RTs appreciated:
The first question is Pep’s availability:

- His current contracts ends in 20/21
- He has NOT signed an extension
- He stayed at his previous clubs 4 and 3 seasons respectively
- Next season would be his 5th at City
The next question is the availability of Juventus’s managerial position:

- Sarri’s contract ends in 20/21
- He was only appointed on a 2 year deal
- Managerial signings are usually 3-4 years at a top club
- It’s worth noting that this coincides with the end of Pep’s deal
You could argue that Agnelli has been planning for Pep all along:

- Why give Sarri such a short contract?
- Why have the expiration coincide?

Sarri also plays possession based football. In effect, this begins the transition into Pep’s style of play before he’s even at Juve.
There’s also been murmurs of a pre-contract agreement between Pep & Juve for a while now, reported by Momblano.
It also just makes sense for Pep to go to Juventus.

He’s managed in the rest of the top 4 leagues, and now Serie A is the only one left.

Inter are deeply tied to Conte. AC Milan are in ruins, and Pep isn’t a ‘rebuild’ manager, so Juventus makes the most sense.
People deny the idea because they don’t think he gets along with Ronaldo...

His comments about Madrid this year were made in respect of his opposition, not to slander Ronaldo.

He’s always been respectful to him, proven about this comment made about Sterling recently:
The next question - could Pep’s style of play work in Italy as it’s known for being more defensive?

This is his record vs Italian teams in the Champions League:

- 8 wins | 5 draws | 1 loss
- 2.14 AVG goals scored
- 1.21 AVG goals conceded

So, I think that’s a yes.
Another question people ask is, could Ronaldo work in a Guardiola team?

The answer is surely yes. The idea that Pep only plays in one way is incorrect.

At Barca, he used a 4-3-3 false 9. At Bayern, a 4-1-4-1 with a traditonal 9.

He’s proven he’s adaptable:
To summarise:

- Juventus is Pep’s sort of club
- Serie A is his probable next destination
- The managerial spot will be open the same time he’s out of contract
- There may already be a pre-agreement
- His style could be successful

Let’s wait until 21/22 and see what happens!
