The truth about Girlicious: A Thread
They were created in 2007 by choreographer, Robin Antin also the creator of the Pussycat Dolls.
They rose to popularity after a reality show by the same name aired on CW which featured the selection process for the group. Rapper @LilKim @robinantinpcd and music executive @RonFairMusic were judges on the show.
In the end @NicholeCordova @nataliemejia @ChrystinaSayers and Tiffanie Anderson became Girilicious!
Their first single “Like Me” premiered after the finale.
The group was well received in Canada with their debut album going platinum.
However when promo began for their second album, Tiffanie was missing. She explained in a youtube video that Robin and the label chose to part ways with her because they didn’t want the group to be “urban” any longer.
We all know that’s coded language.
Tiffanie and I had an exchange on Instagram when I asked Robin to address this claim after posting a black lives matter solidarity post.
Lets unpack this.

They kick the dark skinned black woman out of the group for being too urban but keep the lighter skinned black woman in to appeal to their mostly non-black audience.
