OK... You guys might not want this advice but I'm gonna level it at you anyway from someone who has had to socially isolate for 16 years now. If you listen, it could genuinely help you cope with this situation.

Stop holding out (/on) for it to get better.

#AdviceForTheAbleds
Let me explain.

When you are just holding on until the world rights itself again, what that actually means in practice is that you aren't adapting to your current reality. You are holding onto the past. And often onto false hopes.
This situation is absolutely not going to resolve itself anytime soon - not in the way you hope it will. There's a new normal we will eventually find, but even that will be different for a long while.

Allowing yourself to think any different again just means you aren't adapting.
On the other hand, adaptation is healthy. It leads to overcoming a situation or a struggle. It means you can take the situation you are in, as it is, and deal with it. Not just deal, but find ways of being happy within it too!

Happy might look different now too but that's OK!
I honestly can't stress this enough that until you accept the new reality, you'll continue to struggle & flounder. The waves are going to keep coming and knocking you on your ass and you'll feel like you are drowning.

You need to learn to accept, anticipate & surf the waves. 🧡
There can be good things to come out of this pandemic, believe it or not & I say that as a disabled woman at risk from this illness personally. If we fight for a better society, to fix that which has been exposed by this pandemic around the world, we could build a better world.
In the meantime, we fight where we can, we accept the truth of our situation, we protect those around us as best we can, and support those we love, especially those at risk in some way from this situation.
What I'm really saying is... Don't give up. Life's always worth living! Sometimes you've got to find smaller reasons than you had before. Sometimes you have to fight to even see them. But they're ALWAYS there, no matter how tough things are. They're there & are worth living for.
