Point 1 isn’t really a problem imo.
Point 2 maybe, but I’m pretty sure they also have a national database sitting somewhere. https://twitter.com/godslovebogos/status/1277977255352795136
Infact, its a win-win for the countries involved if you think about it. except it would require some hyper coordination.
will be handled at a national level so,
1 tech team from each country.
1 audit team each country
1 security team from each country.
so the two teams more or less represent each country. And they’ll work on exposing their countries data.
audit team will analyze stuff and the security team make sure no-one is leaking info.
setup strict working rules (due to the nature of software you’ll be building)
Example they can provide laptops, so there’s no way you’ll end up with sensitive data on your personal machine.
Also setup strict monitoring.
- build a pipeline between the 2 national databases.
- disable writes, enable only reads.
- anonymize most parts of the data, expose just the name and biometric portion
- run a comparison algorithm, set a threshold and flag all records that exceed the threshold.
store all blacklisted records somewhere secure and make the data available to both countries.
Would require some decent engineering but it’s really possible. Except it’s a high risk task so you’d want the best people you can find.
Yup. I guess that would work.
