Mork Borg by @MorkBorg (also @JohanNohr does typography threads pass it on)

A friend of mine described Mork Borg as Army of Darkness the rpg. Obsessed with an aesthetic, knowing its ridiculous, going all in anyway. Things you should know about Mork Borg:
1) The spine has invisible glow in the dark letters.

2) The moster on the cover is dead 2 pages later, setting the tone for the entire book.
3) The first rule of the game shows up on page 16, uses psalms as a roll table, and predicts the coming end of the world.

4) The end of the world could happen at the start of any session and text directs you to light the book on fire when it does.
5) The primary food you start the game with is lard. L-A-R-D. I will not do the disservice of telling the stories, but ask @TrebuchetOps @Arr_Roo or @anathemander what awful hijinx that led to and you may hurt yourself laughing and also not eat the rest of the day. Heinous.
6) The classes are incredibly flavorful, and the writing is stellar. The fighter stand-in in particular is just *chefs kiss*

“You have thirty or so friends who never let you down: your teeth.”

I believe they brought @pjamesstuart in to help, and it shows.
Look, the game brags about how many fonts it uses and has a different style of layout for every spread in the book. In some ways its the anti-Quest. It trades focus for extreme variety, and its a testament to the superb talent of @JohanNohr that not only does it work, it sings.
Mork Borg is an art book, a designers paradise of tricks and play and experimental choices forming a cohesive experience. Its brilliant and I love it. How many other books can make hole punches work here?
The game is also an excellent rules light D&D experience. 4 stats, a nifty set of abilities to mess with rolls called omens, spells as items, morale, strange spells and nifty armor rules. Its real good.
Mork Borg is a stunning book thats fun to read full of clever ideas and clever prose. Theres a ton of great free content at their website including one of the best character generators around (of course the reroll option says “click to kill this one”. https://morkborg.com
