Season

Lewis Ward
Excellent start to the season but injury prevented further progression. Has the all round game to regain the No.1 spot and at only 23 years old will keep improving
Jonny Maxted
Made a few high profile errors to begin with, but soon settled and has a highlight reel for the sesson worthy of a keeper higher up the football ladder. Distribution needs work, but emphasised the importance of having two very good Goalkeepers at the club
Craig Woodman
We missed his composure at times, a player who, had he been fit, would have been invaluable when Jack picked up his injury. Probably the end of Woody's time at SJP, a good servant to the club and we'll always have that Scunthorpe goal
Jack Sparkes
Breakthrough season. Had a good pre season and forced his way into Taylor's plans. Clearly has worked hard on his defensive game, but would like to see more of his attacking play next year. A talented player who could be a huge asset next season
Tom Parkes
Consistency was an issue. A no nonsense CB who I am sure Taylor will stick with and hope for a bit more from him next season. Aggresive and a perfect fit when at it, capable of an error when off his game. Great beard game though
Dean Moxey
Breaks my heart that sending off could be Deano's last act as a City player. Failed to have the impact of last season, and without the physicality Taylor craves, will surely make room for summer recruitments. One of our academy's finest products
Aaron Martin
I'm a big fan. Good in possession, reads the game well and loves a block. Hard to say if Matt is sold on him, but I would be sad to see him go. Our best defender this season and his departure would be a dissapointment bearing in mind who would be left behind
Pierce Sweeney
The back three suits him. Defensively he's had a good season, also, statistically, amongst the most accomplished in the division for passes forward. A player who has his moments which often bring about overt criticism, but this is league two and most players do
Jayden Richardson
Has developed steadily as the season progressed. Often deployed on the left side, he will have learned a lot in his time here. Crucial goal in the semi and has the physical attributes to keep improving and make a breakthrough with Forest
Randell Williams
Excelled this season. Our go to man at every occasion. Created the majority of our chances and grew into that responsibility. Only criticism would be that he could add more goals to his game, a top player who will move on and up either this summer or next
Archie Collins
Gets better all the time. Now he has learnt the discipline of his position, Archie is starting to be more demanding of the ball and creative in possession. Big future and one our midfield needs to be built around
Jake Taylor
Industrious season as always and leads well off the pitch. A player who can break into the box and contribute goals, would like to see him have more of a licence to do so
Nigel Atangana
A good signing and one that's added well to our midfield options. Getting the right mix in midfield has not always been successful from Matt Taylor this season and an area to improve on going forward, Nigel should be major part of that discussion
Nicky Law
Wonderful season. Key to all we do, plenty of assists and plenty of goals from midfield. Solved the penalty problem as well. Need more players in our attacking third for him to work with next season
Lee Martin
Quality footballer, i am just never sure how he fits in. Not a winger, not a CF, ideally plays the same role as Nicky Law. Playing a front three may suit, we rarely do however. One whose time at SJP may be up.
Matt Jay
Under utilised considering the contributions he makes when he does play. One of many who like to be outside the box creating and not in the box scoring. Hard to see much change in opportunities next season
Alex Fisher
Had his moments and a good squad man. Considering the improvements we need to make in our attacking play this could be his only season at SJP
Ryan Bowman
Solid season. Played as a No.9, judged as a No.9 but not a No.9. A bustling link player who needs a partner, tactically we've not helped him at times this season.
Nicky Ajose
Dissapointing season. Our marquee signing and injury ruined it. Showed glimpses in the cup of what he can offer, we need him fit and ready to go next season. Not given up on him being the forward we need
Jordan Dyer, Alex Hartridge, Noah Smerdon, Harry Kite, Joel Randall Ben Seymour, Will Dean and Josh Key.
Cost cutting will enable them a chance and all have proven they have the ability, will be up them to force themselves into contention the way Sparkes did last summer
Matt Taylor
Always look to improve and we did that. Should be proud of how we challenged and how he, as a young manager, dealt with the COVID situation. Horror show in the final a wrong he needs to right. Next season will need to be a good one and I am confident Matt can deliver
