This is an awesome thread.
My thoughts on it in a much shorter #MiniThread

I had 20/32 returns with my captaincy this season (7/9 last 9 GW) which is 62.5% success rate BUT we should look at it in a different perspective imo.
Who was our REALISTIC captaincy option that scored the most each week gives us a more profound image of our success in captaincy.
For example, GW3 I went with Sterling ©️ away at Bournemouth ahead of Salah at home to the mighty Arsenal defence. Both great options. But 7 points lost there. Even with the return.
An opposite example: the very next GW I captained Sterling again at home vs Brighton. I had KDB as my VC, 10 points loss for me, BUT, many others didn’t have KDB at this point and probably debated between Raz & Salah. In that case even if you blanked with Raz you only lost 3 pts.
That’s pretty much the story of my season. Many GWs where I’ve returned on my captan, there was a much better option.
Most painful was TAA at home vs WAT which looked a good pick until Salah’s brace in the last 20 min which shattered my GW (I had them both).
In conclusion, captaincy success imo is a very subjective matter that differs from one #FPL manager to another. In this thread (which isn’t that mini now come to think of it) I tried to give managers an objective point of view beyond the usual return/blank captaincy pick.
