Trump is really in bad shape and will probably lose.

Dems are favored to win the senate now, but it's not that big a lead; probably only 60/40 at best. they could easily have a massive wave election and leave GOP in control. 2

that would be really bad for a list of reasons.

McConnell would probably not confirm any D judges. conservatives would get stronger hold as Ginsberg and Breyer retire and aren't replaced.

McConnell would block any economic aid, and might block any efforts to get the virus under control.

No electoral reform, which mean GOP vote suppression continues unhindered.

we're in a crisis; we need legislation. and if the govt can't offer people relief, people will turn on Dems, and we'll get someone like trump, or worse than trump, again in 2024.

so Trump looks really vulnerable, but the GOP as a whole much less so. the most realistic nightmare scenario now is not a trump win, but a gop win of the senate, ensuring a continued slide into fascism, economic despair, and failed pandemic response.
