hi. i don’t know how long this thread is going to be but here is my point:

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE DYSPHORIA TO BE TRANS

so let’s break this down. when i say “oh they’re trans” what do you think of? almost 80% of the time, you’ll think of binary trans people, this means mtf or ftm (usually, with the exception of intersex trans people) where somebody identifies as a man or a woman.

however, nonbinary people can also be trans.

i say “can” because believe it or not, not ONLY is “nonbinary” an umbrella term (covering any gender identity that does not fit within the gender binary), it is also a WIDE. SEPCTRUM.

some nonbinary people may not think of themselves as trans because their nonbinary identity doesn’t conflict so much with their biological sex or how they present themselves, this is fine and normal.

however some nonbinary people will identity with trans and allow their identity to fall under “transgender”

now.

gender dysphoria means this: “unease that a person may have” (NOTE: “may have) “because of a mismatch between their biological body amd gender identity”

whilst having dysphoria is a life changing thing with many negative attributes (i personally have gender dysphoria) not all trans people do.

so riddle me this: what type of dysphoria ARE ALL nonbinary meant to have?

for example, somebody could have the biological body of a “man” (having a penis) but identity as demi-girl.

(NOTE: demi-girl is a gender underneath the nonbinary umbrella)

i don’t speak for all of these people, but they might have dysphoria because of the mismatch

or then again, they may not.

SIMPLE. AS.

another example could be that, somebody could have a biological body of a “women” (having a vagina and boobs) and identify as demi-girl.

they might not have dysphoria because of the “lack” of mismatch

OH BUT WOULD YOU LOOK AT THAT.

or then again... THEY MAY HAVE DYSPHORIA

GET IT THROUGH YOUR THICK SKULL.

this also crosses over with pronouns. whilst pronouns do sometimes equal gender, THEY DO NOT ALWAYS EQUAL GENDER

bc guess what, nonbinary identities are nonbinary identities for a reason (....)

(....) because, and i quote “nonbinary is an umbrella term covering any gender identity that DOES. NOT. FIT. WITHON. THE. GENDER. BINARY.”

have you ever been friends with someone with pronouns like

“she/they” or “he/they” or even neopronouns*?

the reason i am speaking about this is because

(and you may have heard of these people)

many call themselves “transmedicalists” otherwise known as transmeds or transcums

these transmedicalists believe that you HAVE to have gender dysphoria to be transgender

many people DO NOT KNOW THIS and it is important because so... SO MANY people are shouting “BLACK TRANS LIVES MATTER” or “TRANS LIVES MATTER” and yet only think of the binary?

NONBINARY PEOPLE EXIST TOO
