Burton paid out £90 in wages for every £100 of income. This won't have been helped by having a 13 month set of accounts but perhaps explains why Nigel Clough did a Captain Oates and left the club recently to preserve other jobs. #BAFC
As a result of income falling faster than costs Burton had an operating loss of over £2m last season, seven times that of the previous year. #BAFC
Burton’s note on the challenges of preserving its existence due to COVID-19 is concerning as it is one of the better run clubs financially in the EFL.
