I'm enjoying the hundreds of replies claiming I don't know anything about what voters on social housing estates think.
I grew up on one. That's why I'm Labour - because my parents were tenants and on benefits and I was angry about the way Thatcher's government treated them.
I represented seven estates in central Hackney as a councillor for 12 years where one of Labour's most popular policies was Ken Livingstone's funding for six cops in every council ward, which meant visible policing reduced drug and gang crime.
Since 2014 I've spent a disproportionate number of weekend #labourdoorstep sessions on the Blackbird Leys estate because that's where my wife is councillor.
I've never canvassed anyone who thinks the police are overfunded. I've canvassed a lot of people - mainly on estates as the poor suffer most from crime - who want more visible policing.
If we don't have a feel for the most basic attitudes of the voters that should be our core vote, we don't deserve to represent them.
