I accepted that many people I had known closely in my past I was no longer likely to ever talk to.
I also continue to believe that anyone who really wants to establish contact again also will not struggle to do so.

Why did I take such an action? My lack of trust in the organisation& #39;s ability to control the use of my data (and that of those I care about) was too great.
The inconvenience of switching platforms was also a lot less than it seemed at first.

I think many people will be considering now that they want to dissociate themselves from platforms like Facebook for many different reasons, yet they feel bound to those platforms, that they have more to lose by quitting than they gain.
To those people, don& #39;t overestimate how much value the service gives you. There are a multitude of other tools and services that allow you to stay in contact with people you care about. The status quo is comfortable, but easier to change than you realise.
