Nearly all my life, I have struggled to find people who I can relate to, and who have a long history of medical disorders and pain like I do. (1/n)
I have suffered from several chronic disorders since I was extremely young, such as EDS, Fibromyalgia and RHD. While these have made life tough, these have also made me feel alone (2/n)
Part of the reason for that is that I never met real people around me suffering from real chronic conditions having similar experiences with pain as I have had. (3/n)
A severe lack of support groups for young people dealing with chronic illness is among one of the most stark deficiences in the way invisible illnesses are dealt with in India (4/n)
The isolation that comes with being in chronic pain is severely underrated, and manifests itself in serious disorders (5/n)
But ending this isolation is simple, and it begins by reaching out. This is a thread for reaching out. (6/n)
If you are a young person in India suffering from a chronic illness, or know someone who does, I encourage you to please respond to this thread (7/n)
