As an Indian, I feel it’s my responsibility to talk about the fact that India is committing genocide, planting the seeds to begin invading and occupying neighbouring countries, and weaponizing the Pandemic in order to justify its assault on minorities within its borders.

India is stripping Kashmir of its special status because it’s a Muslim majority state with some power of self-determination (keyword: *some*), and by having forced itself into Jammu & Kashmir in late 2019, it wanted to display its strength to Pakistan, and the world at large.

If it can occupy Kashmir & so successfully, too, with virtually no reprucussions from the international community, it believes it can take it a little further. So it’s turned to China in its north, recently, directing soldiers to fight at the border & weaponizing the Pandemic to

garner support for invasion. Many propaganda news channels (especially Arn*b G*swa*mi’s) have been given and disseminated that same messages: China deliberately created COVID-19 and so it must be punished. And a lot of people are eating this up like it’s their last meal.

This, of course, is false. China did not manufacture this disease, and the only use of such a lie is to garner support for possible invasion. Get everyone in India and the Indian diaspora that supports Modi to support this, too. And it might not seem like a big deal but:

India is a majority Hindu country and a lot of privileged Hindus in India and the Indian diaspora do not see Modi as the fascist leader he is. They see him as their saviour, as the great preserver of Hinduism. And, to some extent, he is. Which is the problem.

He has allowed for violence to run rampant in the streets of India against other minorities. Students at a university were recently beaten brutally by the cops. Anyone staying out past curfew right now is brutally beaten and many have been murdered. And a lot of people cheer for

this, and the same people take any criticism of Modi as an insult to India. And this is BAD. I cannot explain to you in words just how bad it is. India is building up to do something horrible and its unchecked power is going to destroy lives even more.

Another point on the news channels: they‘re serving to radicalize privileged folks, especially Hindus, in India & the diaspora. It’s sickening & it needs to be stopped, but I don’t have the answers on how to stop it & I wish I did because India is gearing up for something that

scares me to my very core. I’m not a Historian yet but I’m a student of history, and this path never leads to anything good.
