I’m gonna just ask something real quick: I know the origins of the word, but bisexuals can experience being called these things - so why can’t they reclaim it? This a genuine question https://twitter.com/streamciear/status/1277424675023396864">https://twitter.com/streamcie...
I don’t say them bc I think they’re nasty words, but I don’t really understand why gatekeeping a slur that’s used against bi people too is ok
Bisexuals can experience slurs and it’s their place to reclaim them if that’s their experience. Gatekeeping slurs that oppress more than one group in our community is a bit silly tbh. I understand the origins of the words, but that’s not only how they’re used now
A lot of people saying the d slur isn’t the same bc it’s used to harass lesbians for a LACK of attraction to men and so that’s why bi people can’t use it. Which I hear. But that invalidates bis who are almost 100% attracted to women and have a demisexual attraction to one man?
A lack of attraction doesn’t mean 0, it just means a lot less than straights. Which a bi person with this preference qualifies for. If that slur is used against them.. it’s going to hurt them? I don’t get why people want to invalidate others experiences
