Those who say state does nothing for Balochistan should understand how the NFC award works. NFC dictates how resources should be distributed between federal and provinces. It depends on multiple indicators as indicators shown in image. /1
This means that poverty of province is catered for. Now according to 7th NFC award to which these indicators apply, the share of Balochistan has immensely increased while other provinces have lost some. You can see the comparison, Balochistan has gained more than 2%. /2
And that's not it. Balochistan gets is share from the target revenue, not the collected amount according to the NFC award in effect since 2010. This year federal government paid 80 billion more to Balochistan despite a revenue shortfall. No other province has this privilege./3
This has been happening since 2010, which means that Balochistan gets a much bigger share, which goes to the sardars that rule them. If the sardars still do not spend on them, then how can state be held responsible for their deprivity? /5
This is how democracy works, unless someone has better ideas. When your leaders do not spend on you,you vote for better. Take an example of FATA elections which were the first elections in 70 years, they didn't vote for sardars (maliks), they chose their representatives wisely /6
The state has done its share and continues to do so, but the onus at the end falls on the people of Balochistan to break the shackles and vote for better people. /7
