I have deleted two unsent tweet threads because I don't want to get crushed but I will say a lot of you fellow lgbt+ folk have really fucking terrible lgbt+ opinions rn that do NOTHING to achieve anything it's all just pointless piss infighting while nothing changes and I'm tired

what the fuck are you achieving by denying the lived experiences of other lgbt+ folk lmao. next time you go to share some lukewarm take about why someone actually wasn't impacted by the slurs used against them, share a transition fundraiser instead you weirdos

so many of you are so deeply, deeply online and the lens by which you view these issues is so fucking convoluted and warped and I am just so exhausted. I feel like I can't talk about the shit I actually have gone and go through because it's not square pegged enough

the worst part is it's not even helping YOU, so many ppl here are miserable trying to hold inside these rigid little definitions they crafted for validity because that's what external black-and-white rhetoric has forced us into but I am begging you to step back and see ISSUES

anyway I guess what it keeps coming back to is so many of these terrible takes boil down to "homophobia/transphobia is actually the fault of these cringy lgbt+ folks, if they policed themselves better then the cishets wouldn't have permission to abuse us" which aint true.

cishet ppl don't feel entitled to homophobia and transphobia because some lgbt+ kid working through trauma somewhere tweeted something you disagree with, they feel entitled to it bc they're homophobic and transphobic. address THAT, not the wayward gay

you know none of this is fucking real, right? it's all constructs and words we invented to try and convey an inherently unwieldy and imprecise meeting of human nature and society? there is no rulebook actually and if you think there is, you don't know your own history

gayness is not a measurable element. there is only reality and the words and constructs we invented to try and convey that reality. reality dictates the meaning of labels and language, not the other way around, don't get lost in the smoke screen. help your others
