I know you guys want an edit button on Twitter SO bad but on a platform where you host other people’s tweets on your page as signal boosts or part of your online voice, it would be terrifying.

Imagine quote retweeting something and saying “I support this!” And then having the original tweet author edit their tweet and change what you previous claimed to support? It could be very damaging and used to spread hate or misinformation.

Only way I can ever see an edit feature working is if quote rts and rts directly save a copy of the text at the time of the quote retweet and are unchanged if an original tweet does get edited. Would be confusing with so many different versions of one tweet floating around.
