A story from the GR household: a thread

Today is Chief Brody’s birthday. But 3 of our dogs have June birthdays. I thought “wouldn’t it be cute to take a pic of them each with a little piece of cake!” I bought a slice at the store today and separated it for them to share 1/

I even bought and lit birthday candles because remember how perfect that was for Queso’s birthday?! 2/

Honestly, I should have anticipated what would happen. Swiz is not as patient as Queso. She went right in for that cake. 3/

The candle was still lit!!!!! 4/

Fortunately, it went out before the cake was even off the plate (thank you, porch ceiling fans) 5/

It’s a good thing, too, because she ate the whole thing, cake and candle, in one swallow. She was lucky to escape with only a few singed whiskers. I, however, lost several years off my life in the course of this 2-second photo burst! 6/

Fortunately, my Chief Brody is an angel and patiently waited for his birthday slice 7/
