Trans Analogy - A Thread

1. Saying someone is Mexican is not racist.

2. If a white American identifies as Mexican and paints his skin in a darker tone and puts on a sombrero, does that make him Mexican?
3. Could it be offensive to Mexicans that a white American uses Mexican stereotypes to present himself as Mexican?

4. Should he legally be allowed to change his race from Caucasian to Latino?
5. Does he then get to enter studies and statistics as a latino?

6. Should he get benefits from programs created to support Latinos? Is that fair or helpful to latinos?
7. Does he then get to make racist Mexican jokes freely and openly?

8. Is pointing out that he is not Mexican a vicious personal attack on him?
Is the purpose of stating this fact is to actively incite violence against him and others like him?
9. Is it one's responsability that violent people might use these facts to attack people?

Is pretending he is Mexican going to prevent these people from harming others?
10. Does it make you a better person if you demand everyone accept this white man's new race to make him feel better?

Does that make bigots out of the people that disagree?
11. Should people get "canceled" for saying a Caucasian man can't legally change his race and explaining why doing so could be problematic?

12. Is trying to destroy people's lives, because their free speech counters yours, on brand with the tolerance and acceptance you preach?
