Hi friends! I've received a few messages, texts, and calls inquiring if you can still vote at the polls even if you request an absentee ballot! The answer is yes.
In Michigan, if a voter wants to vote in person, but has requested an absentee ballot, they can 1) bring their blank or filled in absentee ballot to their assigned polling location and they will destroy it and give them a new blank ballot to fill out there-
2) can leave the absentee ballot at home, then sign an affidavit saying that didn’t mail in the ballot and they will be given a provisional ballot which will only be counted after it is verified they didn’t mail it back-
3) drop off the filled out absentee ballot at their city clerk by 8 PM on election day!

As far as I'm aware this same policy applies to Florida and many states across the nation but please double check online!
I highly recommend you request an absentee ballot even if you want to go to the polls because 1) COVID-19! You shouldn't have to choose between your health and your right to vote. 2) Look at what happened in Georgia and Kentucky, many polling locations were closed and as a result
people had to wait hours in line to vote which is not a privilege everyone has! 3) You never know what could happen to you personally and you might not be able to make it to the polls.

Safeguard your vote this August and November by requesting an absentee ballot!
