and lwj is incredibly sad because they're still teens/young adults so he hasn't been through the -defy-all-authority-for-ur-crush phase and is struggling.

In the meantime wwx is like NOW?? THAT I FINALLY FIGURED OUT I LIKE HIM?? AND WE STARTED DATING?? NOW??

and they keep texting but LQR caughts lwj (who thought texting was okay) and he takes his phone because he's disobedient and also he doesn't need a phone to study and do his duties anyway (ok, boomer).

So lwj is one day exiting his guqin class and when he and his classmates of

the music academy are going down the big stairs to the building (i pictured something like this)

they hear the engine of a motorbike skidding and they see a black motorbike with a guy dressed in black leather and a red helmet hitting the brakes to stop very harshly in front of

them.

And they're all like Lan students so they're very disciplined and that guy just broke at least 5 traffic rules and probably has a tricked engine so They're Looking and the motorist takes off the helmet and shakes his head so his little ponytail tied with a red ribbon

appears. He looks directly at Lan Wangji with a smug smile and says
"Hey, Lan Zhan! Need a ride?"

In that exact moment Lan Qiren appears on the gate of the academy, already red of anger.

He tries to yell "Wangji, don't you dare!"

But it's too late, LWJ is already walking fast

stairs down. WWX helps him get on the motorbike and puts his red helmet on him before sitting on the bike himself.

He lets a laugh of pure joy when LWJ's arms embrace his waist and he accelerates.

Under the helmet, Lan Zhan is smiling shyly.
