Does anyone know of the existence of a word that describes the experience of actively catching yourself in disagreement with your former self?
You know, those moments where you learn or notice something new that impels you to reflect on something your past self wrote or said or did and you think, “wow, I was just so completely wrong...”
I’m not talking about this in the sense of acquiring a taste for the mushrooms, red wine, or folk music you used to hate, but rather those instances where you find yourself wholeheartedly dissenting with one of your old life philosophies or perspectives.
Also— Has anyone else found themselves having these moments on an increasingly regular basis? Maybe it’s the quarantine or this is just what adulthood feels like, but at least for me, these have become more of a bi-weekly than of a bi-annual occurrence.
