I think people forget that creators like Jenna Marbles created “problematic” content back in the day because that was genuinely the humor at the time. Even in the 90s—Friends, Seinfeld, most sitcoms made some weird jokes that wouldn’t be accepted today.

To cancel an entire human being for the mistakes of the past is disgusting and makes absolutely no sense. You cannot deny that the humor we had growing up was absolutely twisted and normalized. We’ve grown, media has grown, so why can’t these content creators be allowed to grow?

Ask yourself *why* Shane Dawson and Jenna Marbles were huge back then. Ask yourself *why* they’ve had millions of views and subscribers for ages now. Ask yourself *why* is their past being brought up when we were the ones taking part in it.

I’m not at all defending either of them for their actions, more specifically and especially Shane’s, but to bully someone so much on the internet to prove some type of point is just wrong. This is all wrong. It’s all hypocritical.

I guess what I’m trying to say here is: don’t point fingers when your hands are dirty.
