THREAD: This fantastic frieze by #WilliamMitchell in Sheffield has been under threat for over 5 years. But - good news - there's a chance to save it & give it a new home in the city centre.

@SheffCouncil has opened a consultation & want your views by July 21. Here's the story 👇
The frieze is on Barkers Pool House which will be demolished to build a new hotel in @Sheff_HoC2. Last year councillors confirmed that retaining & relocating the frieze would be an option in a site consultation. That consultation has now finally opened https://www.heartofcity2.com/public-consultation/ 2/
And so in vg news the consultation plan says:
"Options relating to the relocation of the William Mitchell frieze ... are also being explored, with a likelihood of it either being displayed within the new buildings on site, or elsewhere within the Heart of the City II scheme" 3/
This is a piece of public art intended to be seen by all and many passers by - shoppers, people at work, people on a night out, whoever - and so it deserves a new home in our city centre. If you agree please complete the consultation by July 21st - https://www.research.net/r/LMQGF6X  4/
To ensure this wonderful piece of public art is saved it's important that as many of us as possible share our views with @SheffCouncil by 21/7/20.vPlease share the consultation link and take 5 mins to complete the short survey 5/
