i know most of you won’t read the carrd because you’re lazy so here’s a quick recap of what’s going on in palestine please read it. there’s not enough people who are aware of this urgent crisis. free palestine. please read this thread all the way trough: FREE PALESTINE
first of all let me debunk something. this crisis is not about religion. in fact not all palestinians are muslims. religion is a part of it but there’s a much bigger issue going on.
what is zionism? it’s a racist ideology that advocates for a jewish ethnoestate (a political unit that is populated by and run in the interest of an ethnic group) built on palestinian land. this ideology is anti palestine because it is only feasible trough the ethnic +
cleansing and constant uprooting of the palestinian people. for a jewish ethnoestate to exist, there can be no palestinian demographic majority. this means palestinians will never be given the right of return and will never reach full equality under the state of israel.
right to return: it’s the basic right to return to your home. israel denies them that right.
is zionism antisemic (against jewish people)? NO!! it’s what we call people who are not for zionism and actively fight against it. this argument is often used to silent palestinians so it’s important to know that it ISNT TRUE!
how did this happen? when? before the 1800’s, arabs and jews lived peacefully together. but then zionists started moving to palestine and build their jewish ethnoestate. they didn’t want to live peacefully they wanted to eradicate and cleanse palestinians to build their +
ethnoestate. zionism began to grow and it became clear that for them a jewish state could not exist with a palestinian majority on the territory. zionists publicity said what they were doing was a colonial project, meaning they knew the nature of zionism but just didn’t care+
they wanted their jewish estate, and they didn’t care about palestinians. as soon as they moved the zionist started buying land. they wanted land to build their ethnoestate and were already talking about ethnic cleansing for palestine.
the balfour declaration: in 1917, this declaration was a letter sent to an important and influent zionist called rothschild. this declaration is basically the first step towards building a jewish state. it disregarded completely the native population, and palestinians and their+
needs and wishes. after this declaration more and more zionists started moving to palestine. they were building more and more colonies. between 1917 and 1947. thousands of zionists moved from europe to palestine. by 1947 their population in palestine was of 33%.
and then, when they had enough information about palestinians and were more in numbers, the zionists began the ethnic cleansing around 1947. palestinians has be uprooted from their homes for years already, but in 1947 villages began to be attacked. in february 1948, +
five palestinian villages were emptied in ONE DAY. in march and april more than 250 000 palestinians were exiled from their own homes.
plan dalet: this plan was adopted in 1948. it’s a plan to ethnically cleanse palestine if it’s native population. they used sieges, bombing villages, setting fires, planting mines in destroyed homes so the palestinians could not return. rape was another tactic they used +
many were scared and fled their villages in fear for the women in their families.
then there was the deir yassin massacre. over ten thousand palestinians were murdered in the most brutal ways. there was also nabka, where 750 000 palestinians were forced out of their homes. by may 1948, almost half of the palestinians population was exiled from their homes +
and became refugees. in the following decade 7 million refugees couldn’t return to their homes. there was also the six day war in 1967. it’s a war that lasted 6 days between arab countries and the israel. israel won: as a result it occupied the gaza strip, the west bank, +
east jerusalem, the sinai peninsula ans the golan heights. it also exiled another 300 000 palestinians from their homes. during the 80’s israeli started intifada meaning tremor, shivering. in that they drove over 4 palestinians with a truck. protests broke out. +
israeli broke the bones of the protestors to stop them from protesting. this went on until the 90’s. the intifada resulted in more palestinians exiled, 12 000 sent to prison. more than 30 000 children needed medical attention becasue of the brutal treatment from israeli.
after that another intifada occurred in 2000 and lasted 4 years. israel then stater building an apartheid between the west banks and the state of israel. RIGHT NOW, israel continues to ethnically cleanse palestine.
GAZA: the gaza strip is a small part of land. it’s the world’s biggest prison with a population of nearly 2 million people. it’s impossible to enter or leave gaza strip. israel makes sure the palestinians that live there are on the brink of starvation. +
they also bomb the gaza which harms a lot of civilians.
WEST BANK: right now for palestinians to eat go to school and have all their basic need they go trough different checkpoints. there’s an average of 100 different checkpoints in west bank. at those checkpoints there’s sexual
assaults, abuse, etc. in the west bank israel destroys homes. it’s a way of “ethnic cleansing”. israeli soldiers also arrest palestinian children and detain them in israeli prison.
USA: trump recently proposed a palm where they give even more land to israel. this will divide +
palestine even more heres a map of this horrible plan :
here’s some donation links. some are for medical care, others are for spreading awareness please before you donate look at the mission the organization has. know why you donate and wher you want your money to go. it’s important!
the bds movement
“the bds movement began in 2005, and was started by omar barghouti and a group of other palestinian activists. today, it was one of the most powerful forms of protest used by palestinians in both occupied palestine, as well as around the world.
the prime minister of israel also wants to annex west bank with israeli settlements. thousand of palestinians risk losing their homes with this.
signing petitions is welcome BUT doesn’t seem to have an impact.
by the way, there’s a LOT more persecution and tension that happened but this is a recap
from the river to the sea
