Sales Advice (THREAD)

Been studying the BORON Letters by Gary Halbert, trying to learn Copywriting.

Credit to @oliviercantin for his 100-day challenge to keep me accountable!

This is good info!

Proven sequence to maximize sales:

Attention

Interest

Desire

Action

Let's go!
1. ATTENTION

It should be

-the right kind of attention
-needs to be relevant to the offer
-natural fit

Bad example :

SUBMARINES THAT FLY??

...So we don't have submarines that fly, but listen to this!!

It insults the reader and they feel misled.

AVOID!
Gary used to attach a bag of dirt to his letter to get the reader's attention.

His letter was about Real Estate, so you see how that fits in!

Plus, everyone who sees it will want to find out why someone is sending them a bag of dirt!

GENIUS.
2. INTEREST

Next, get him interested.

Tell him cool facts!

Try to be as specific as possible.

Examples :

- How much money is to be made.

-Tell me how this is the best opportunity around

-Tell him the exact amount of money others have earned
3. DESIRE

- Tell him the benefits. Sell the result, not the product

-Use word pictures that help the reader experience the benefits

“Wait till you step into that warm jacuzzi that's in the apartment.
The feel of that soothing bubbling water against your bare skin is heaven.”
-Don't forget to state even the obvious benefits.

E.x.

Benefits of having more money :

-New car (Comfort, Luxury)

-Huge House (Status)

-Peace of mind (No financial stress)

-Vacations (Leisure)
4. ACTION

- Be clear and specific about what you want them to do

-Tell him the how, when, where, why, how much

- Be specific

- Tell him to act now!

- Describe the benefits of hurrying and what he loses if delays

IN SALES, DELAY IS DEATH.
