1. John Roberts did not see himself taking on the role of a Kennedy when he was appointed. He must be keenly aware of how any other outcome to the last few major decisions by the court would have made the current conditions on our streets apocalyptic. I don’t think I exaggerate.

2. I applaud Roberts nonetheless because he’s upholding not only the importance of court precedents within our system, he’s been moderating his positions as he’s witnessed the real life effects his previous decisions have made.

3. Citizens United, gave 1st amendment rights to corporations which then flooded our system with hidden money, further corrupting the electoral process, and gutting the voting rights act that regulated bad behavior by southern states with a long history of voter suppression.

4. Those two decisions have played out horrifically. I can only hope those are examples of terrible, thoughtless court decisions leading to all too predictable outcomes. Again, I applaud #SCOTUS @Scotus for upholding our rights over the past few weeks.
