Having an operations meeting--where Council decides on how council operates---and the topic of it seems to be how do we deal with protesters veiled in the need to keep us all "safe"....it's public but not livestreamed, I will keep you all posted via live tweet.
Gilmore-We could be a super-spreader, asks that if we do reach capacity that we open windows and doors, spoke to Seattle via Kneich connection, they have been 100% remote.
@TorresDenver3 Torres--feels like she is being incorrectly portrayed on Twitter by moi. đŸ˜± So let me link the video for you to decide for yourself.
Clark--calling an emergency executive session meeting to potentially cancel.
Herndon--asks if we delay what happens to the timeline to the required public hearings. Says he doesn't have a problem with Sheriffs coming up to Chambers during council.
Black--asks Clark if he has spoken to Sheriffs or private security. Linda (council central staff) says yes that they have told her that they will help her when asked. She needs us to give her permission to use them.
Kneich--suggests maybe we direct file tonight to limit how many people can speak during public comment or a direct late filing that allows virtual meetings. Wants rule changes but doesn't feel like we have resolution for tonight.
Torres--says we need to be able to start at 5:30pm or cancel.
Sawyer--states that it is cruel that we have put the required public hearings off for too long and suggests that we need to have this meeting tonight even if that means empowering our staff to use the Sheriffs. States we should say to ppl we have business that must get done.
Linda Jamison--wants to be able to control people who are coming into chambers and wants to figure out how we don't police where people must sit. Doesn't believe that allowing folks to be in the hallway is good because that is how they stormed via the hallway last week.
