Introducing our panelists! First up is Alison, the Access & Engagement Coordinator at @ScotsQueerFilm. SQIFF have been creating positive queer spaces in Glasgow for a number of years, with a big focus on measures to make their events more accessible #BlueSkyQueer
Some of SQIFF's access measures at events: All films subtitled with closed captions; Autism-friendly screenings; Family-friendly screenings; Content warnings; Bean bags; GN toilets; Sliding scale tickets.

Morgan Holleb & Joe Isaac are co-directors of די ראָזעווע פּאַווע @dirozevepave or Pink Peacock, a queer yiddish pay-what-you-can community café opening in south glasgow. They don't yet have a cafe space - rn they're delivering meals to local community during CV19 #BlueSkyQueer
For food deliveries די ראָזעווע פּאַווע @dirozevepave aim to help people access food & esp luxury food. What people pay for meal deliveries is hidden, so there's dignity in what people can pay. A physical cafe would be a bilingual yiddish space & a luxury atmosphere #BlueSkyQueer
Christopher Murray is a youth worker with @HetrickMartin in New York - one of the US's prominent LGBTQIA+ organizations that assists at-risk queer youth, whether it be through HIV testing, providing a hot meal, or even just a reason to smile #BlueSkyQueer
HMI provide a wrap-around service 1) taking youth to events 2) empowerment from the community through meeting elders 3) attending after-school clubs to provide teaching & training to staff. Christopher ensures the legacy of HMI continues by being part of its culture #BlueSkyQueer
Senfuka Joanita Warry (Biggie) @nkali_biggie is Director of Freedom and Roam Uganda @Far_Uganda a human rights organisation that addresses discrimination against LGBTI people. She's also a board member of Sexual Minorities Uganda (SMUG) & a trained GBV champion #BlueSkyQueer
FARUG come together to watch movies, have discussions about issues that affect them as LGB people, have conversations they can't have at home & share what they go through. Restricted to 18+ as they're not legally allowed to work with anyone younger as an LGB org #BlueSkyQueer
Sue John @SueJohnGWL is part of the Senior Mgmt Team at Glasgow Women’s Library @womenslibrary. Sue has been involved with GWL since 1993. She was integral to overseeing the relocation of the UK’s Lesbian Archives from London, where it faced closure, to GWL in 1995 #BlueSkyQueer
As well as being a physical library space, GWL creates space in other ways. They work in prisons & refuges, and deliver learning events all over the UK. They keep archives, including the UK’s Lesbian Archives, and host a wide range of events & orgs #BlueSkyQueer
GWL was set up by unpaid labour of queer people, as is common! They've always facilitated queer projects, including setting up the Glasgow chapter of the Lesbian Avengers, which Sue was involved in. As an Intersectional feminist org, 'women' is trans & nb inclusive #BlueSkyQueer
Claricia Parinussa @ClariciaKr is community organiser for Vogue Scotland, the family & platform for the House Ball community in Scotland centring QTBIPOC. The culture came from Black trans women in the 60s in NY creating a safe space away from mainstream drag scene #BlueSkyQueer
Vogue Scotland family aims to introduce individuals to House culture & empower individuals through community building & the artforms of Ballroom. The spaces they create are by taking up space. Also a focus on anti-racism work and how that sits within queer spaces #BlueSkyQueer
