1/ Today, Starmer's made it clear that he is not concerned about how the Black community feel because it won't win him elections

A lot of people are angry about his "Defund The Police" comments - but I'm most angry about his uncritical praise the police
2/ It is no secret that British police have an institutional racism problem - from the use of tasers to the fining under COVID-19 legislation

The fact he'd just ignore that and uncritically celebrate the police *while* saying he cares about racism to Black people is vile
3/ This is one of the reasons I'm emotionally divesting from politics when it comes to things like racism

Politicians are turning this into a culture war - but I'm not fighting in it, they can do as they please

I'm focusing on grassroots organising and education because...
4/ ... Keir Starmer and Boris Johnson aren't going to deliver a fairer society for Black people

It'll make the fight against racism in the police force - and broader society - harder, but it is what it is

The odds have always been stacked against us, Starmer's nothing new
5/ You don't have to want to defund the police to recognise police are often a hostile force to Black people in the UK

You don't have to want to defund the police to call out institutional racism in British policing

But politicians in a culture war, so fact doesn't matter
6/ Not only that, but Starmer knows his comments will whip up anger to Black people

For most in the UK, the police are a protective force - but too often for Black people they're a hostile one

But Starmer doesn't care about that, because demonising police critics will win votes
7/ IMO Starmer's reaction to the anti-black racism in the Labour leaks foreshadowed all of this

And his ongoing selectivity on the racism he condemns is demonstrative of how he's weaponising minorities in a culture war

Let him play his games, I'm sure he'll regret it one day
