A minor girl in Biramitrapur town of Odisha went to see a fair and due to lockdown couldn't come back. She was found roaming near bus stand and cops took her to police station. The IIC of Police Station raped her and then next day she was dropped at her home.

The ordeal was not over. She was then repeatedly called to police station afterwards and raped by the IIC and other police officials. She was raped by her two relatives and her stepfather too when she brought it to their notice.

The issue came to light when District Child Welfare Committee rescued her and found her to be 3 months pregnant.

The cops didn't stop there. They took the girl and forcibly did an abortion on her. The committee then lodged a FIR against the cop and others including the doctor who did the abortion.

The govt has suspended the cop and ordered an inquiry. No arrests have been made till now. That would explain how seriously the matter is being taken up.
