peter pan is a story about a boy from neverland who never grows up. he takes wendy to neverland, introduces her to the lost boys and defeats captain hook. now imagine chan as peter pan. and jeongin as wendy if u will.
chan is clearly posed as the leader of their escape in district 9 - leading the boys toward their neverland. they face their own captain hook, but captain hook isn’t a person. it’s a decision. ‘they chose comfort, we chose our own way’.
at the end of peter pan, peter tries to convince wendy to stay with him and the lost boys and to never grow up. but wendy doesn’t and she decides to go home to her family with the lost boys as well.
throughout the skz mvs we see chan coerce more than one member. first hyunjin, and then jeongin. hyunjin follows chan without seemingly much doubt in his trust for chan, but jeongin looks back and hesitates. this is because he knows it may not be the right thing to do
so say jeongin is wendy. he’s being convinced by chan to go his way, but chan isn’t always right. so the ending of levanter isn’t all sunshine and rainbows as we clearly see chan’s face fall when he sees the moons colliding.
there’s a sort of repetition in the i am series and the clé series, both which end in a seemingly happy state but have hints of underlying uncertainty. both these uncertainties come from jeongin - his sadness in i am you and his doubts in levanter.
it’s this mindset of them being safe when in reality they’re not, and jeongin is the only one who realises this because he knows of the multiple universes and he knows they keep on making the same mistakes.
throughout skz’s journey to levanter, one of the key themes they portray is having faith in yourself. it also shows that there are tests of trust within the group, as demonstrated through hyunjin.
so, faith, trust and...a little bit of pixie dust?
which mind you are ingredients to help the characters in peter pan fly...

so now that they have these 3 ingredients, will their second attempt at creating their adult wings (as opposed to young wings) be successful? only...maybe not all of them need the wings...
remember how i mentioned wendy and the lost boys all went back and they left peter pan alone in neverland.......here is chan. alone. with 7 chairs around him.
i don’t think skz or jeongin are dead so much as they are lost...lost in neverland, lost boys. looking for the lost part of themselves and discovering how they can grow. no longer stuck in their neverland where they can’t grow up.
skz have always put emphasis on the fact that they’re always looking for how they can improve + better themselves. so i am: is about discovering your identity, clé is about following your dreams, and go live is about finding the rawness within yourself and looking at how you can
further yourself as an individual. not to mention stray kids is literally a synonym for lost boys but we already knew that one right.
now we wait for mush to add her chrono croc theory
