For many white people the past about the colonial ancestor seems far away. But for me its so close. My father family are what we call "pied noir". They are a bloodline of french people who came and decided to live in Algeria. Afters years of living (1/3)
In this country, many of them, had to leave the country bcuz of the war. Their situation was complex bcuz they all lived there for so long, they had to leave their friends etc. So they became immigrants in their own country. (2/3)
This is why I am really conscious (I think) about colonisation. It runs really clearly in my blood. And I hope many other white people will realise that colonisation is not that old and still affects the world and people a lot. (3/3)
