The owner of a tour company in Tz once told me that you hardly find tourist guide material or signs in parks in the national language of Swahili because the companies never expect domestic tourists. The experience is not designed for them at all.
Concept of tourism industry in Africa needs expanding. There is so much domestic tourism for religious conferences for example. Yet attendees struggle to get affordable accommodation, transport, meals - while overpriced hotels are quietly waiting for tourist ‘peak season’.
