I didn& #39;t know how to check who of my mutuals is following JKR until a second ago. I made the horrible, painful mistake of looking to see.

I don& #39;t even have any words. so many people I care about follow her, that I can& #39;t even say I& #39;ll just start unfollowing people.
is it just willful ignorance? is it that a lot of people who claim to care about marginalized identities will shout from the rooftops about Black lives, but don& #39;t give af about trans ppl (& everyone else that she& #39;s hurt)? do they think her violence against trans ppl...
...is somehow separated from all of the conversations we& #39;ve been having? what I would *like* to think is that they don& #39;t even realize they& #39;re still following her.

as I say every time I come on here now, mercury is in retrograde and I& #39;m supposed to be staying away for a reason.
"it& #39;s just following, it& #39;s not hurting anyone" (as I imagine someone might be thinking)

following legitimizes platform. most of you I bet unfollowed authors in our community recently shown to be problematic and abusive. why not JKR? do you not see her as problematic/abusive? https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🤔" title="Denkendes Gesicht" aria-label="Emoji: Denkendes Gesicht">
hey everyone, please stop trying to defend the "hate following", it& #39;s pretty steeped in privilege. I& #39;m sure a lot of cis folks are able to follow JKR to keep a tabs on how hurtful she is. I don& #39;t know many trans and enby ppl who can stomach doing that.
I& #39;m gonna go ahead and speak for myself when I say: I really don& #39;t care if you& #39;re hate following her. it still hurts me, tbqh, bc you& #39;re still putting your own desire to watch (for what? why? entertainment?) over the fact that you are legitimizing a harmful, painful platform.
as for "I don& #39;t know I& #39;m following her", that& #39;s the only excuse that I& #39;ll accept at this point because I& #39;d have to spend way too much time unfollowing many, many mutuals. but, it isn& #39;t that hard to check if you& #39;re following her and click that "unfollow" button.
and, one last point: as a lot of amazing people have kindly pointed out, you don& #39;t need to literally follow someone to see what they& #39;re up to. you can put them on a list called "pos TERFs" w/o legitimizing them, or just search their name to see their posts
