I turned 32 last week and have been reflecting on some of what I’ve learned this past year. Here’s a thread of life lessons, in no particular order;
1/ Friendship is such a lovely thing. I’ve got a couple of friends who have been a consistent presence for 15+, and others I’ve known since childhood who have dipped back in and out of my life. One of the most gratifying feelings is to see your peers grow & fulfill their dreams.
2/ If not now, when?
It doesn’t have to be now, but if you want it to happen, you should have a good answer for “when?” and “why then?”

3/ Showing up is, indeed, 90% of the battle. Showing up for weddings, birthday parties, brunches, workouts, bachelorettes, etc sometimes feel high inertia in the moment, but is one of the most important things you can do for yourself and others
(Showing up ON TIME is a value that I would love to live by more. Working on that, along with my whole generation).
4/ Some people are the glue, and they end up doing 95% of the emotional labor to bring people together and forge connections. Be the glue.
5/ Investments in your body and health are the best ones you can make. Knowing your way around the gym and the kitchen is surprisingly empowering - and two great places to build foundational skills that compound over time.
6/ Compounding applies to everything. Take small steps every day to build the habits and relationships that you want to be the cornerstones of your life, and remove the ones your less hot on.
I’ll stop there. Leaving these all as reminders to myself. Let’s check on ‘em in a year!
