I'd like to share something about how I became pro-trans.

Many years ago I changed my mind about trans people from being just basically dismissive and ignorant, to being fully supportive.

Before I share this, know that I have made a mistake in my wording as I talk about "gender" regarding only genetics, when your phenotype (physical characteristics) and other factors are important to the discussion and a distinction must be made. [2/9]

It is at the very heart of science to change your mind when presented with new evidence.

I myself have a background in microbiology and genetics (which makes me more mad that this stuff isnt taught), and I've studied forensic science at university. [4/9]

Science is not a weapon to use against trans people, because science understands that there is more to someone's gender than their chromosomes. Science also includes the study of society and behaviour, and these are also influential parts of one's gender identity. [5/9]
