My two pence on the trans women are women debate revolving around @jk_rowling :
As far as I'm aware, trans women (and men, but women seems to be the topic) are under no illusions about their biological sex. Infact, I'd go as far as to say they are very painfully aware of it.
So painfully aware that they do not belong in the bodies they were born into that it must be changed. The fact that not every aspect of womanhood can be given to them must be incredibly heartbreaking. If a trans woman could adopt those experiences into their life wouldn't they?
Trans women (talking here primarily about about M to F) are under no false pretences. No, they don't have periods - yes, of course they know about this. Yes, being biologically female is its own experience, but trans women are not trying to remove or claim that.
Trans people are fully aware, thanks, that they were not born the sex that aligns societally with their gender. No, they don't want to steal your identity, or your experiences, or attack you in bathrooms. They just want to live in a world where they can safely be themselves.
Trans women are women. Let them be women. Accept them as their own woman - not one with your experiences, not one with mine, but one with their own. Yes, being female is its own experience, but every female's experience is different regardless. Theirs is theirs, and it is valid.
If anyone wishes to correct me or educate me further on any of this, I am open to sensible discussions.
