Stylization can be even harder to develop than realism. I was drawing realistic birds by the time I hit high school, but it took me much, much longer to develop a style. Imagine that, but also having to replicate specific aesthetics standard for the time.
This is one of my most fav paintings of all time, "The Marriage Procession of Dara Shikoh," by Haji Madani. Though everyone is stylized the same way, they also have their own unique features--there is even differentiation in the fabrics based on where in South Asia they're from.
