Parler has already suspended me for asking the CEO about his tos.
They deleted my question about their TOS
. @parler_app deleted all my messages asking their CEO John about their TOS and then they suspended me without notice.
My profile is set to public.
This is what they deleted. Plus another one I hadn’t screen capped.
This is the TOS clause I was asking the CEO about.

He answered me once with a dodge response.

Then he ignored me.

Then they shut down my account.

And then they deleted two particular messages I sent about the TOS.

They say it was a glitch.

SHADY AS FUCK
I had already moved over 1.4k followers there in a matter of days. A real migration seemed possible.

That dream did not last long however.
Fuck Parler and even the service that shall not be named.

In the LO we are already developing our own twitter clone.

First for our users and then maybe open to other networks to use as well.

Maybe even one day open to the public.

That’s how we roll.

Build shit.
As of 0939 EDT all of my content has been deleted by Parler and I am prohibited from posting.

This despite their CMO texting me trying to say it was a “glitch.”

Previously they had just deleted my msgs re their TOS. But now it’s all gone.
Still banned from posting.
UPDATE:

I have a call with Parler CEO later this afternoon.

Will let you know how it goes.

Maybe this will turn out good for everyone.

Maybe not.

Updates forthcoming.
UPDATE:

I spoke with John, the CEO of Parler. He had a number of things to say, none of which made me feel much better.

Here's what we discovered on our call:
1) He has no idea who/how someone deleted my messages.

Two things happened to my account. First, someone deleted my specific messages about the TOS directed to John.

Second, my entire account was shut down.

He said they had 3 "moderators" and they're scaling to 1000.
He denied that anyone deleted my specific messages, yet I have concrete evidence that they were deleted. See thread.

I pressed him several times on this and finally he said I should email the evidence to one of his people.

Not hopeful on that front.
The CEO doesn't know what his own people are doing.

That's not that unusual. But it is shitty.

Same thing seems to happen at Twitter, where my followers are disconnected from me everyday and @jack has no clue.

As they scale, this will get worse.

Maybe they're infiltrated.
2) They are overwhelmed by "bots"

CEO John says that they've been inundated with spam accounts and bots.

He claims I was banned because I wasn't following anyone....but yet I had 1,400 followers at the time.

Their new moderator staff is meant to resolve this problem somehow.
If you don't follow enough people on Parler, you're apparently at risk of account suspension.

That's weird.
3) The TERMS OF SERVICE

Despite the clear language of section 14 in the TOS, CEO John says that it was never his intention that Parler would seek legal fees from its users in the event a third party sues Parler bc of something a user said or did.

I read him the clause out loud.
Despite hearing the words I was reading from his very own TOS he kept denying that what I described was possible.

ie: I could be targeted by bad actors suing every single one of Parler's employees and then I'd be on the hook to defend each and every one of them.

No says John.
After pressing him several more times he admitted:

The lawyers fucked up.

"It was boilerplate"

"we're going to change it"

"i'm sorry"

Finally!

a break through.
CEO John of Parler told me directly today on the phone that they are updating the TOS to eliminate confusion and tighten up the terms to prevent the scenario I described.

They will make an announcement later this week and then roll out changes the week after.
CEO John blames the lawyers, said they fucked up, said they "take forever," said they use boilerplate, and said they're going to make changes.

I'll believe that when I see it.
To his credit, he did take time to talk to me. I could tell he stepped outside to take the call and then had to go back inside for another meeting.

I guess he didn't want anyone to hear our conversation internally lol.

But I'm not fooled, and I don't have high hopes.
Next step for me is to send his people the screen caps of the sequence of deletions where they deleted my specific messages about the TOS, BEFORE they shut down my account in total.

Again, not hopeful.

Until the TOS changes, I'll likely be staying away from Parler.
As you can see here, "A user" deleted my own message while leaving the rest of them.

After that, I was shut down.

I don't really buy anything CEO John said today except for this:

1) He doesn't know what his people are doing
2) His lawyers suck
Summary:

Parler isn't a panacea, it's got humans involved after all.

The TOS sucks. The moderation system is wack. Selective deletion (censorship) occurs. Their lawyers suck. Scale brings problems.

Once TOS is resolved, I'll give it another shot. Until then, holding off. /end
Oh one last thing.

We get shit done around here folks.
