#FPL 2019/20 - The story so far...

A thread looking back at some key moments from each gameweek this season.
GW1:

Man City began the season in style by putting 5 past West Ham on the opening weekend. Raheem Sterling scored the first hat-trick of the season while Riyad Mahrez managed 3 assists.
GW2:

The Pukki Party well and truly started against Newcastle in GW2. Following his goal at Anfield in GW1, Pukki scored a hat-trick in a 3-1 win against Newcastle. This game also saw the emergence of Todd Cantwell as a Fantasy asset as he picked up 2 assists.
GW3:

The Pukki Party continued despite defeat against Chelsea. Pukki managed a goal & an assist, picking up 12 points. Cantwell scored his first goal of the season. Tammy Abraham’s brace started a run of 7 goals in 3 games & Mason Mount scored his 2nd goal of the season.
GW4:

Liverpool managed their first clean sheet of the season at Turf Moor & Alexander-Arnold picked up his 3rd assist in the opening 4 gameweeks.
GW5:

Against all the odds an injury stricken Norwich beat Man City 3-2 with Pukki scoring his 6th goal of the season before an 8 game run without a goal. Todd Cantwell continued his fine start to the season with another goal, set up by Pukki.
GW6:

Man City responded to their shock loss at Norwich with an astounding 8-0 home win against Watford. Bernardo Silva, De Bruyne, Mahrez, David Silva & Otamendi all recorded double digit hauls. Despite a goal, assist & clean sheet Otamendi didn’t manage a single bonus point.
GW7:

Wolves recorded their first win of the season, beating Watford 2-0 at Molineux. Matt Doherty managed a 15 pointer after scoring his first goal of the season. The victory was the start of a 10 game unbeaten run for Wolves.
GW8:

Adama Traoré scored his first goals of the season in a 2-0 win at the Etihad. Raúl Jiménez assisted both of the goals and the pair have since combined for 8 more goals in the Premier League.
GW9:

Jamie Vardy scores his 6th goal of the season, starting a run of 8 consecutive games in which he scores. Harvey Barnes picks up 2 assists.
GW10:

GW10 began in some style with Leicester winning 9-0 at Southampton. Jamie Vardy & Ayoze Pérez both scored hat-tricks and Harvey Barnes managed 2 assists for the second week in a row. Ben Chilwell picked up a goal, 2 assists & a clean sheet.
GW11:

John Lundstram managed the highest points total for a player in a gameweek so far scoring 21 points, with 2 goals & a clean sheet in a 3-0 win against Burnley. It was his 3rd double digit haul of the season already.
GW12:

Christian Pulisic scored his 5th goal in 3 gameweeks against Crystal Palace after his hat-trick at Burnley in GW10. Tammy Abraham was still proving excellent value as he recorded his 12th attacking return of the season.
GW13:

José Mourinho’s first game in charge of Spurs ended in victory as they beat rivals West Ham 3-2 at the London Stadium. Son managed his 2nd double digit return of the season with a goal and assist.
GW14:

Leicester made it 6 wins in a row late on against Everton, with substitute Kelechi Iheanacho making an impact from the bench with a 94th minute winner and the assist for Vardy’s 10th goal in 8 matches.
GW15:

Liverpool won 5-2 in the Merseyside Derby, which saw Everton sack Marco Silva. Mo Salah was named on the bench and Origi scored a brace. Mane managed 15 points with 1 goal & 2 assists and TAA recorded his 7th assist of the season.
GW16:

Following their 2-1 home win v Spurs, Man Utd made it 5 unbeaten against Man City at the Etihad with an impressive first half performance putting them 2-0 up at half time. Rashford made it 10 attacking returns in 8 gameweeks.
GW17:

Man City bounced back from their derby defeat with an impressive 3-0 win at the Emirates. Kevin De Bruyne made it 6 goals & 11 assists for the season with a 19 pointer.
GW18:

A Danny Ings brace away at Aston Villa helped the Saints climb out of the bottom three. An incredible run of form from GW7-22 saw Ings score 13 goals in 16 games. Ings now has 18 goals for the season and is a serious golden boot contender.
GW19:

Trent Alexander-Arnold made it a Boxing Day to remember for his owners, scoring a massive 24 points away at Leicester and becoming the highest scoring defender in a gameweek in FPL history.
GW20:

Everton ended 2019 with a 2-1 win at Newcastle making it 2 wins from 2 under Carlo Ancelotti. Calvert-Lewin scored his 7th & 8th goals of the season and emerged as a Fantasy option.
GW21:

Leicester began 2020 with a 3-0 away win against Newcastle. Jamie Vardy was heavily captained but didn’t feature in the match day squad for the second game in a row. Pérez picked up 13 points against his former side whilst Maddison scored his 6th goal of the season.
GW22:

Sergio Aguero scored his 12th Premier League hat-trick to become the highest overseas goalscorer in Premier League history. Riyad Mahrez played 90 minutes for the third time in a row and managed a 17 point haul, moving on to 16 attacking returns for the season.
GW23:

Wolves came from 2 goals down at Southampton to win 3-2. Jiménez scored his first and only double of the season so far and Traoré made it 6 assists for the campaign. Traoré set up Jimenez to complete the turnaround with 15 minutes to go.
GW24:

GW24 was the first double gameweek of the season with both Liverpool and West Ham having two fixtures. Sadio Mané was the popular triple captain choice, but he went off injured after just 32 minutes of the opening game meaning he finished on just 1 point.
GW25:

Steven Bergwijn made it a debut to remember against Man City scoring in a 2-0 win. Gundogan missed a penalty in the first half as Man City’s troubles from the spot continued.
GW26:

Bruno Fernandes picked up his first attacking return against Chelsea in his second game since his arrival, setting up Harry Maguire’s second half header. Wan-Bissaka got his 2nd assist of the season by setting up Anthony Martial just before half time.
GW27:

Wolves made it three clean sheets in a row since the return of Willy Boly to the side by beating Norwich 3-0. Jota picked up 16 points whilst Jimenez bagged his 12th goal of the season. Doherty & Saïss both managed assists.
GW28:

Watford ended Liverpool’s hopes of an invincible league season with an incredible 3-0 win against the leaders. Ismaïla Sarr’s 2 goals & an assist earned him 19 points. Watford became the first side to stop Liverpool from scoring all season.
GW29:

The final game before lockdown was Leicester’s 4-0 home win against Aston Villa. Jamie Vardy came off the bench to score twice and ended a 10 game run without a goal. Harvey Barnes recorded 19 points by picking up 2 goals & an assist.
GW30:

4 sides had a double gameweek to restart. Sheffield United defensive assets were popular and they kept a clean sheet against Villa. However, Egan was sent off at Newcastle & Lundstram only started once. Foden, Mahrez & De Bruyne were the highest scoring Man City players.
GW31:

Fernandes was the popular captaincy pick for GW31 against a Sheffield United side without Henderson, Egan & O’Connell. However, he blanked for just the 2nd time in his 7 appearances and Martial scored a brilliant hat-trick. Rashford managed 2 assists.
