Joe Biden's great-great-great grandfather William owned an estate just outside Baltimore near several plantations on Washington & Georgetown Road. The estate inventory is just normal property.
Joseph and James Biden purchased the land after William died. Sons of Mary Biden (great-great grandmother it seems?).
Her sons bought the property for $3,740 and named it after her. Must have been quite wealthy.

When Mary inherited the land from William, a man named William Hilleary signed the estate document. He himself owned 68 slaves. And Larkin Wade, the other signature, owned 4.
Larkin Wade's daughter married a Biden. His son also owned slaves.
Joe Biden, direct descendant of George Shoemaker through Joseph H. Biden's wife Lydia owned 6 slaves.
And Joe Biden's namesake 'Robinette'- his paternal great-grandfather George and his father Moses.
But it really comes back to Jesse Robinette.

Who begat Pvt. George. Who begat Mary Elizabeth (Robinette) Biden who married Joseph H. Biden. Joseph H. Biden is Joe Biden's paternal grandfather.
In December, Biden was asked if he supported the idea of reparations:

Either way. There you have it. Regardless of your opinion on reparations, Joe Biden is a direct descendant of slave owners in Maryland.
