I’m not against the use of ketamine. It’s ok to use & should be used as Excited Delirium Syndrome can be deadly. But what I won’t be doing is using it because a cop suggested I use it.
2/3 of ExDS die in prehospital settings. Most of them young, black, & male. They die bcos of excessive use of force. Now can you imagine adding ketamine because a cop says “can you give them something?” while they are literally asphyxiating the pt.
