#Thread on Shailendra Dynasty who ruled till Philippines
Shailendra dynasty arose in 7th century and established Shri Vijay Empire.
They flourished till 10th century and extended the empire in Sumatra,Java Thailand,Penisula and Philippines.
Their official language was Sanskrit
Most of the inscriptions were in Sanskrit but locally spoke Javanese and old Malay.
They built magnificent Borobudur Mandir in Java which is famous for entire Ramayan and Mahabharat engraved on the walls of Mandir.
Shailendra ruler had powerful navy and dominated sea trade to
China. By 12th century Shailendras were replaced by Majapahit, a Hindu dynasty arose in Java(Indonesia) who put limit on Shri Vijay empire till 14th century.
Later Chols and Pallavs of South Bharat dominated the sea trade via Bay of Bengal.
Sumatra became center for Sanskrit
Sanskrit and Boddhik center for study. Many Sages and Monks got shifted ti China, Japan and Korea by 15th century.
