A lot of you who enter the mental health field have no idea about the complexity of it. Hell, I still don't. Mental health is more than just anxiety and depression and often times, it is viewed as a problem that needs fixing. You can't 'fix' mental distress.
However, we can only understand the reasons of this disress. Many of the times, the reason for this distress, especially in the marginalized communities, comes from the social and political scenario. Deep rooted prejudices along with lack of resources puts them at the high risk.
Our environment plays an equally important role in our well-being. How can we, then expect the Queer Community, or the minorities, to be happy without changing the social situation around us or without challenging these prejudices?
