Thought I might start another #Thread for those local travel and vacationers this summer.. I lost earlier #Storyteller posts, each is it's own unique trip.

The #Digby Neck area has numerous spots..
We've circled the mainland a few times, #RVLife discovering those places not mentioned in fliers or highway signs. You'd be amazed what you find this way. After you get that last stop in Digby for food, gas, and supplies, head up the Neck on the 217 highway. Found a #campground
Wherever we stay, I have to up before daylight, the best photos are when the light pierces the sky, usually over the water somewhere. We picked Whale Cove Campground Sandy Cove, (902) 834-2025, great spot, friendly folks, near everything else we are visiting #Sunrise was amazing
I'm all about the #View and less about the driving.

#Camping in #SandyCove
Whale Cove Camping is in Sandy Cove, but there is a #WhaleCove down the road. You could drive it with an #RV and turn, but drive slow. We just parked near the wharf and explored on foot. Unique #rocks on the shore in this region. Extending the #beach and almost a trail.
Some of these #rocks are slippery, watch your footwear and mind your step. Buoys wedged under rocks, pieces of wrecks, and boats that lodged in above high-tide in storms. Interesting rocky beach walk , we did about 1km. It became too difficult to find footing.
And we couldn't go far, because we left the kids behind. (They are fine, the vents are open, it's comfortable inside)
Our #Travel Kitties, Maya (black) and Jasper (white) , they took the trip well. #RVLife #Pets #Cats #CatsOfTwitter
Besides a small sample of that rock formation, we sometimes got *clean* shells or at least pictures of what we saw. There's different shells, in each shore of #NovaScotia Where there isn't #HalifaxTrails we make our own. There will be more later. #Hiking #Beaches #Travel #Shells
Before we head down the road, I wanted to show you more of the #camping location, it's great to know what to expect, rather than just rolling in from their website.
๐–๐ก๐š๐ฅ๐ž ๐‚๐จ๐ฏ๐ž ๐‚๐š๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ ๐ซ๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐ where we stayed, the cats fought for the best views, but I took photos.
The #cats gave the place 5 paws. Everything within WIFI range, but best reception on those benches outside teh washrooms, behind the vending machine. The front bench faces the sunrise if you are up early enough.
Depending on the time of day and direction you were facing, there was quite a difference facing North and South
Our *kids* didn't use the #playground, but that might be important for you to know, before deciding? If you have #children and #travel #NovaScotiaStaycation #WAYCTV
Don't drive up here! People got trailers up there! And it's tight on the hill. But, much more privacy, of course, there's a lower area like this too. #WIFI might not reach there, but you can sit in the rec-room area of the main building.
The main office is at the front porch of the main building, there's information on the door if they aren't yet open for the day. Fire Pit Rings provided, inside rec area, information about #whales and a mini-museum of items to see. If only we knew all this before we found it?
This isn't a public museum, just a display for guests of the #campground and collections of books, and I think there was a TV in the recreation basement area. #shells

SO, see anything you like? Perhaps you were going to see Brier Island anyway? #Trails are excellent there but that's another blog away. The whole area is a 3 hour drive from Halifax, might as well see the whole Digby Neck? #Whales and #Tours are popular in the area, more time.
You could miss this, if I didn't tell you. It looks like a cellar door that belongs to the private home. It's the #Social room (rec room), with TV, games, coffee machine. Nothing fancy, probably used by kids and tenting folks. I had TV in camper & coffee: museum is worth seeing
And I may be wrong (call and find out) but I think they might have a rental Cabin too! I didn't ask. They list as MOTEL too http://www.whalecovecampground.com/  (902) 834-2025
Motel portion must be upstairs. Either way, you could #Bike In, #hike in, rent a room or tent, park your RV and relax. If you can stay a few days, you can drive everywhere else from here. The hill (entry road) is a loop from the 217 highway
As a base camp, it's close to our next destination. WE'VE BEEN SAYING WE WERE GOING FOR A LIFETIME! #BucketList Short beach hike wasn't only reason we came this way, we are heading on to see The Balancing Rock next, #ICYMI Detailed #storyteller tweets here https://twitter.com/rastasack/status/1264945122921365505
