In all honesty, can we admit that there is just some trash ass people in the world. I think most people don’t realize slavery in the United States was ended 155 years ago. That’s only two people and we’ve made so much progress. I get the outrage but I can’t help but ignore racism

Not saying that racism doesn’t exist but I just refuse to give people the benefit of feeling like they can control me. Anytime I’ve encountered a racist it bothers me but I address them as a human with respect. You’re taught to be racist so I try to show them they’re wrong with

respect. Most of the time I’ll get told something along the lines of “Well shit I didn’t know y’all were like that.”
You can be angry about hate but you have to realize it is ignorance that has been taught so to truly defeat it you gotta show them how they are wrong.

Also y’all do realize that the N-word was started as a detrimental term for blacks, yet I’ve grown up not only saying it but hearing it from predominantly blacks. I bring this up because the only reason people still use the Confederate battle flag as a symbol of hate is because

we give them the reaction they are hoping to get. If we can take a word and basically nullify it why not do the same thing with their next best thing. Not only will they have to find something else but they’ll be frustrated that they lost some control
