Meant to be sleeping but started thinking about how dogshit the "pipeline" and "rabbithole" argument is 80% of the time because of how many random stops, skips, and jumps people add to it

Like people will see a moderate view and try to weasel their way into saying "oh well that's only one step away from a firm view which is one step away from a radical view" and just rope in so many things until the "starting point" gets tamer and tamer

Like could you not make the argument that someone on your side, trying to argue against a deemed harmful view, was doing such a shit job at arguing they convinced people to see the harmful view as the reasonable one? The argument is so arbitrary, it's literally the slippery slope
