#ChorltonCycleway thread.

Starts off with a dedicated cycle crossing at the exit of a roundabout. First stage is signalised so it's green when you get there, second stage stops cars and turns green for you when it detects you.
Feeds into a kerb segregated cycleway. Lines haven't been redone yet, so you can see just how much width was gained from the old cycle lane!

Unused bus stop has been left without boarder or bypass, effectively confirming it'll remain unused for the foreseeable.
Gets a little exposed from before the crossing to after this side road, however the side road has been reconstructed to have much tighter kerb radii to ensure drivers slow.

It also has new dropped kerbs and tactile paving for pedestrians, and they have less distance to cross.
The previous door zone cycle lane has been transformed into a parking and planting protected wide Cycleway.
Protected entry into the ASL and more planting. You have a choice here. Can either use the onroad cycle lanes like you always have, or can curve off to the new cycle crossings. Left turning is completely free and can be done against the traffic lights.
Example of a left turn from the side road into the main road.
This then feeds into another kerb segregated Cycleway and passes another tightened side road. The parked cars will be going: double yellow lines and a painted solid line cycle lane are to be painted until the kerbs go in with the next protected junction works
Let's turn around and go northbound! Similar kerb protected track from the Stretford Road junction, including a basic but serviceable bus stop bypass with flush crossing point for bus users.
Then another protected entry into the ASL where you can choose to stay in the road or use the cycle crossings. Including a small mistake: an upside down cycle symbol!

Can also see the "merge"on the other side where those who stayed in the road join the cycle track again
Then an island protected Cycleway until the crossing, and a strangely aligned transition to the next feature: a stepped track.
The stepped track is unfortunately narrow and has 45 degree kerbs onto both the road and footway rather than forgiving 30 degree ones, narrowing the effective width further.

It also doesn't link to City Road via this path as there's no dropped kerb

Another untreated bus stop.
Then when the highway widens again, it transitions back to a kerb protected Cycleway with a verge between the Cycleway and pavement.

It then transitions into the existing deansgate Interchange infra (where we started the thread) and onwards towards the city centre.
